The following new CATI features were implemented in February 2024.
New Features
Added the 'New Style' toggle, which allows users to try out the new user experience and features. To get a better understanding of the changes, you can watch the demonstration video.
Added the ability to adjust the dial mode using a drop down found in the survey ‘General’ tab, this allows supervisors to make the adjustment without the need to rely on the survey author or needing to re-launch the survey. Note that in order to change the dial mode using the new setting the survey must be in a closed state
Improved how the system captures interview duration times. The additional timing fields can be seen in the Call Attempts report or they can be optionally inserted into the Interviewer Productivity report by modifying the report template to include the additional columns. It is also possible to extract the new timing fields from the Call History data via the new CATI REST based API. They are now broken down into the following key components:
Waiting time: Waiting time before the call has started
Interview duration time: Duration of the call attempt
Display time: The difference between the time the system finds and/or connects the call and the time the page is loaded into the interviewer console
Preview time: The difference in seconds between the interview start time and the first time the phone connection was established within the interview. Only applicable for Preview interviews
Connected call time: The difference between the first time the phone connection was established within the interview and the last time the phone connection was disconnected within the interview.
Wrap time: The difference between the last time the phone connection was disconnected within the interview and the start of the open end review (if open end review is enabled for the survey) or the interview end (if open end review is not enabled for the survey).
Open end review time: Duration of time the interviewer spent reviewing open ended questions at the end of the survey (if open end reviewing is enabled).
